Mamiya 645 1000s / Mamiya 645 Sekor C 55mm f2.8 / Kodak Ektar 100 / The Film Box Lab
Ektar users know that Ektar loves light. I chose to captured this image with the early morning sun blasting the East face of the building. This is the Old Train Depot in Columbia (Maury County), Tennessee. Can you find the light leak? After this roll of film, I had to put my Mamiya on the operating table for a light seal replacement. I documented the seal replacement in my blog post titled “Operation.” You can read more about this image and see more images for this roll of film at Shuttering Thru Life.
Great sky and positioning.
Thank you! There was not even one cloud in the sky.
Yes we noticed. Are these typical skies there? We rarely have a day without clouds in this neck of the woods. It adds for more intense pictures though.
Most of the year we have sunshine, but typically the sunshine is accompanied by fair weather clouds that dissipate in the late evening to give way to clear nights. I love the clear skies when I spend time with my telescopes under the night sky, but I do love the dramatic effect they give to landscape and cityscape photographs.
That’s the one thing we really miss in this region Travis is the sunny skies by day or clear skies at night. That’s a nice benefit of your region. That would be fun viewing the skies with a telescope.
I love amateur astronomy as much as I do amateur photography. You don’t necessarily need a telescope to enjoy the night sky or any instrument at all. However, if you have a set of binoculars, try scanning the Milky Way under a dark sky, you will be blown away!
Yes. This is what we cherish about deep woods camping where there is no light pollution to inhibit the beauty of the evening skies.
