This was my favorite car growing up as a kid. I watched the Duke Boys every week. I loved how the General Lee made all those jumps without any damage to the car. They just don’t make’m like they used to, LoL. This car is located in Leiper’s Fork (Williamson County, Franklin), Tennessee. If you look closely at the reflection on the car, you’ll see Barney Fife’s Ford Galaxy Patrol Car from another one of my favorite shows, The Andy Griffith Show. You can see more photography on my main site Shuttering Thru Life.
Wasn’t that a great weekly show. We too watched it. We’ll have to check this place out when we are there in a couple weeks. Great photo.
Absolutely! It’s hard to find shows like that these days.
Yes and when you do its important to take advantage and see them like you have been. Great job.
If you do find yourself in Leiper’s Fork (Franklin), make sure you check out the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge. Either drive across very slowly and take in the views or park and walk out to about mid-span. The Natchez Trace Parkway is a beautiful drive packed with historical stops and it’s restricted to recreational traffic only. It will take you all the way to Mississippi. I hope you guys have a fun and safe trip! I’m looking forward to seeing your pictures!!
Awesome Travis. This is great you took the time to turn us on to these places. As we were reading your post we are “yeah, we’ve got to do this”. Its good knowing we can park and also walk out mid-span. This is what we love about connecting with other travelers like yourselves and learn about places to check out. Thank you. We’ll keep you posted.
